The City of New Florence will be closed on May 15, 2026, as City Officials and Staff join together with the community to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Chief Tyler Beasley. Thank you for your understanding as we remember and pay tribute to his dedicated service. Leadership and commitment to our community.

City Hall will be closed on Friday May 15th, 2026 for Chief Beasley’s funeral. Utility bill due date will be extended until Monday 18th, and late charges will be applied until May 19th, 2026, for any outstanding bills.

It is with heavy hearts that we continue to remember and honor Chief Tyler Beasley of the New Florence Police Department.

Chief Beasley was more than a badge. He was a protector, leader, husband, father, friend, and a man who dedicated his life to serving others. His impact reached far beyond one community through his service, compassion, and commitment to protecting those around him.

Behind every uniform is a family… and today, that family needs us.

The The Chief Mason Griffith Foundation is now actively assisting the family of Police Chief Tyler Beasley—and they need us now more than ever.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and devastating loss of Chief Tyler Beasley, who passed away unexpectedly at just 36 years old.
Tyler wasn’t just a Chief—he was a protector, a servant leader, and a man who gave his life to serving others across New Florence, New Haven, Montgomery County, Reynolds County, and beyond.
💔 He leaves behind his wife, Jennifer, and their three young children (ages 2–11)
💔 Their son has special needs and requires frequent therapy
💔 Jennifer is the primary caregiver and depended fully on Tyler’s income
There was no life insurance. No savings.
Only a family now facing unimaginable grief—and an uncertain future.
On top of everything, Tyler was also the primary caregiver for his father, a veteran in a nursing home. That responsibility now rests on Jennifer and the children.

It is with profound sadness that the City of New Florence announces the sudden passing of Police Chief Tyler (Ty) Beasley who died on May 1, 2026.

Chief Beasley faithfully served the New Florence Police Department and this community with dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public safety. Throughout his tenure, he worked tirelessly to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents, leaving a lasting impact on our city.

He was not only a respected leader but also a valued colleague, mentor, and friend to many. The loss of Chief Beasley is deeply felt across our police department and the entire community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all members of the City New Florence during this difficult time.
