Last night was our annual end of the year dinner and awards. Congratulations to Member of the Year: Jace Blair, EMT of the Year: Joshua Zeiders, and Firefighter of the Year: Caleb DuBose.

This year we celebrated at Rooted Boutique Events and can't thank the staff enough for the amazing food and wonderful hospitality. What a great events space right here in New Cumberland.

New Cumberland Public Works crews will conduct snow removal in the downtown area commencing at 8:00am on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The parking areas at Third and Market will be cleared first followed by problem areas in the business district on lower Third Street between Market and Oyster Alley, and Bridge Street between Bachman Church and 4th Street.
The Police Department and Public Works will post some temporary parking restrictions to facilitate the process.

WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP NEW CUMBERLAND

As the winter storm continues and snow totals add up, we ask everyone to please check on your neighbors - especially the elderly or those who may need extra help.

If you're out shoveling, please consider helping shovel a neighbor's driveway or walkway and access to their home. Clear access can make a huge difference in an emergency and helps ensure our fire and EMS crews can reach them as quickly and safely as possible.

A little extra effort now can save critical time later. Thank you for looking out for one another and fhe helping keep our community safe.

The New Cumberland Fire Department is sad to announce the passing of life member Bernadette Donnelly, also known to many of our members as Momma B.

She served many roles with the department as an EMT, Board of Director and as an Advisor for our Junior Program for kids 14-18 years old. During her time with the New Cumberland Fire, she touched many lives and helped guide many of those Jr's into becoming successful young men and women. Besides her service to the department, Bernie was also well known at the old Silver Spring Speedway where she worked on the EMS Response Team and got to know many drivers and staff in the racing community.

There are not enough words to express our sadness, and our thoughts and prayers are lifted up to her family at this difficult time. God Speed Momma B! We got it from here.

10 volunteers and mutual aide departments responded to an electrical fire on 5th street. Quick action resulted in isolating the breaker and extinguishing the flames with minimal damage outside of the bathroom. Thank you Fairview Township Fire Department and DLA Professional Firefighters Association IAFF F-221.
