This past week I had a terrific fundraiser hosted by my great friend Shibu Abraham, at his amazing house. It was a terrific evening of delicious BBQ, drinks and most of all friendship. Thank you all who attended, and that you Supervisor George Hoehmann for the kind words you expressed in your presentation of me. Most of all, thank you Shibu for you generosity, kindness and brotherly friendship.

Yesterday, I attended two ceremonies where many came together to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the horrific 9/11 tragedy.

I attended the Memorial Ceremony at Haverstraw Bay County Park, and Clarkstown 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, where families, first responders, community members and local officials came together to remember and honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost and honor the courage of first responders, survivors, and countless people who came together in the face of tragedy, and ran towards this horror to help others.

Both programs were well planned and magnificently coordinated by Chaplain David Lothrop. Many came up to reflect on the tragedy of 9/11, and tell their stories of their loved ones they had lost. The names of the Rockland victims were read and a bell was rung for each, to mark a moment of silence, and honor each life lost.

These annual ceremonies are so critical, so that we continue to remember the victims, the families who continue to carry their absence, and the courage of many who risked their lives to help others.

We must remember in order that we never forget that tragic day. If we never forget, we can stay vigilant and pray that this never will happen again.

Yesterday I participated the 9/11 Flag Planting Ceremony at Clarkstown South HS. It was an amazingly organized event coordinated by the Clarkstown South High School Stars and Stripes Club. There were 2,977 flags placed near the entrance of the school, one for each of the victims of September 11th. It was a memorable day attended by many public officials, dignitaries and residents. A number of wonderful speeches were presented, including from Congressman Mike Lawler, Senator Bill Weber, Supervisor George Hoehmann, Councilman Mike Graziano, Town Clerk Lauren Marie Wohl, and hometown military veteran Barry Fixler.

Thanks to the West-Nyack Fire-Department for presenting the flag, that waved proudly high above a fire engine ladder truck. Once again, thanks to all the students of the Stars and Stripes Club and their club advisor Ms. Ryan.

This past week I had the pleasure of joining Supervisor George Hoehmann, Councilman Michael Graziano, and Senator Bill Weber’s Chief of Staff John Mulgrew at Clover Stadium to participate in the annual “Clarkstown Community Night”, and watch our hometown team the Rockland Boulders play the Tri-City Valley Cats.

Supervisor Hoehmann was given the honor of throwing out the first ball, and our group was given the honor of presenting a check of appreciation to United Hospice, an amazing most compassionate organization that sponsored the event.

It was a privilege be part of Raymond Bollo’s dedication, at Sunrise Assisted Living in New City, for his military service in WW II and a celebration of his life in general. Ray recently turned a young 101. The United States Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Foundation Hudson Valley Chapter, coordinated a luncheon at Sunrise in his honor. Ray is an amazing individual, with an incredible personality and love of life. He’s such an inspiration, demonstrating that there is quality of life after 100.

I was joined by Supervisor George Hoehman, who presented Ray with a proclamation in honor of his military service, and Congressman Mike Lawler Veteran’s representative Jacob Wantroba, presented him with a certificate and an American flag that was flown over the Capitol Building on behalf of the congressman.

All the best to you Ray and wishing you many more happy birthdays and good health!! 🥂🥂🥂

It was a pleasure attending yesterday's 3rd Annual Clarkstown Senior Picnic and Health Fair at beautiful Lake Nanuet. There were over 400 seniors who attended to enjoy a delightful day, with music BBQ and friendship.

A big thanks to Clarkstown, especially Parks and Recreation Commissioner Matt Veranesi and Committee Chairman Brian Tesseyman for coordinating this event for our seniors, who have given so much of themselves, for so long to our community.

Along with me, other officials who had attended to schmooze with our seniors were Supervisor George Hoehmann, Senator Bill Weber, Councilman Mike Graziano, Town Clerk Lauren Marie Wohl, and Senator Weber's Chief of Staff John Mulgrew.

Also, thank you to the Clarkstown Police, and Auxiliary for always being present to help coordinate traffic and keep us safe.
