"No, I'm afraid it don't work that way. You can't let a young’n decide for himself. He'll grab at the first flashy thing with shiny ribbons on it. Then, when he finds out there's a hook in it, it's too late. Wrong ideas come packaged with so much glitter that it's hard to convince ‘em that other things might be better in the long run. All a parent can do is say 'wait' and 'trust me' and try to keep temptation away."
Somehow... we have lost this basic truth. Too many people are more worried about being their child’s friend, than in being a parent.

An old man was driving his Lambo with 100 miles/hour when suddenly he saw the police chasing him. So, he starts speeding up, 140, then 150, then 180.
Suddenly he slows down and thinks: "I'm too old for this."
He pulls over and waits for the police to catch up. The officer gets out of the car and as he's heading to the old man, he says:

Wow, super ladies. Thought you might like this epic historic photo showing Lucy Smith and Pauline Ranken ascending Salisbury Crags in Edinburgh, Scotland. Here is the photo evidence that they did this climb while wearing long, ankle-length skirts, hats, blouses and smart shoes, in the year 1908!
The rocks of the Crags include columnar basalts and dolerite outcrops as 46-metre (151 ft) cliffs at the top of a subsidiary spur of Arthur's Seat, which rises on the west of Holyrood Park.
This climb posed dangers! The only protection these women had was a length of rope tied around each of their waists - they had no other safety equipment or protective gear, like helmets, harnesses or spikes.
In 1908, the ladies formed their own club -- the Scottish Climbing Club -- after being barred from joining the "for-men-only" Scottish Mountaineering Club. By 1909 the climbing club had fourteen members.

A father passing by his son's bedroom
Noticed the room unusually clean and saw an envelope propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed, 'Dad'. With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter, with trembling hands.

Dear, Dad. It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mum and you.
I've been finding real passion with Stacy. She is so nice, but I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing's, tattoos, her tight Motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am.

But it's not only the passion, Dad. She's pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that mari*juana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people in the commune for all the co***ne and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so that Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!
Don't worry Dad, I'm 15, and I know how to take care of myself. Someday, I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your many grandchildren.
