We have officially started our fitness testing in P.E. this week!

If your student came home extra tired after P.E. this week, it’s because they pushed themselves and gave it their all! They should feel so proud of themselves for working hard and challenging themselves.

Henry County Public Schools is part of the Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative (OVEC). OVEC turns 50 on November 17, 2026, and will be hosting the "Honoring Excellence Ceremony: 50 Educators. 50 Years. One Mission," on November 17.

OVEC is leveraging their 50th anniversary to celebrate educators in the districts it serves. To that end, OVEC is seeking nominations of educators who best represent OVEC’s mission and vision - educators who invest in their professional growth and help students thrive. There will be three finalists from each district and one awardee from each district. All finalists will be invited to the ceremony.

With high temperatures and heat indexes expected throughout the week, Henry County Public Schools is taking additional steps to help keep our students safe, comfortable and hydrated—especially during PE, recess, outside activities and afternoon transportation.

Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our students. We are asking families to help us prepare for the heat by sending your student to school each day with an approved, non-glass, refillable water bottle.

Please encourage your student to bring their water bottle with them throughout the school day and take it with them when boarding the bus in the afternoon. Our schools will provide and allow students additional time before afternoon dismissal to fill their water bottles so they have water with them for the bus ride home.

If your student does not have a refillable water bottle, we will provide them with a bottle of water before they board the bus.

With actual temperatures nearing 100 degrees and high heat indexes expected several days this week, a little preparation can go a long way. Please help us by reminding your student to bring their water bottle and drink water throughout the day.

Thank you for partnering with Henry County Public Schools as we work together to keep our students safe, cool, and hydrated during this week’s heat.
