Survivors have 60 days from the printing of a FEMA decision letter to appeal the decision, even if the initial Oct. 25 application deadline has passed. FEMA decisions can be appealed if not initially approved, if additional requested documentation is submitted by the 60-day deadline.

To file an appeal for a FEMA decision, visit disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362. Visit on.in.gov/August2026Disaster for the latest information.

The deadline is Sunday for filing your FEMA application if you had flood damage from August 11-12. Three ways to apply, by phone, online or at one of the locations below.

In-person events are open today in Carroll, Lake, Madison and Wayne counties for Indiana disaster survivors to meet directly with assistance teams. Representatives at these centers will provide in-person assistance, answer questions and help homeowners and renters with programs like FEMA’s Individual Assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans and the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF):
