Engine 18 is currently transferred to Mill Creek Fire Company Station 21 while their units operate on a second alarm structure fire. Engine 18 was originally alerted on the second alarm, but then used as a fill in company when command reduced the assignment.

Are you looking forward to Separation Day? So are we! Here are some important details to know to make your trip easy and fun!

๐Ÿšง Road closures will be in effect Friday afternoon on Delaware Street from East Second Street to the River for the Kickoff Party!

๐ŸŽ‰Kickoff Party begins at 6pm at the Delaware Street Wharf. Stop by to see your Good Will Firefighters who are guest bartending!

๐Ÿšง Road closures will be in effect Saturday starting at 11:30am along the parade route. Additional closures will be in effect throughout the day. Police Officers and DelDOT will be in place to guide drivers.

๐ŸŽ’A Clear Bag policy has been instituted this year!

๐ŸšŒ Attendees for Saturday are encouraged to utilize the free shuttle service provided! Parking locations are at William Penn High School and Carrie Downie Elementary School. Parking in town will be limited due to road closures.

๐Ÿšฒ No bicycles, scooters, or skateboards will be allowed within the event space.

Just before midnight on Monday 6/8, Engine 18 was alerted to transfer to Minquas Fire Company #1 Station 23 while units operated on a structure fire in Newport. Engine 18 relocated and stood by. While at Station 23, a second structure fire was dispatched in the 100 block of Oakmont Avenue in the Silview Community. Engine 18 and Claymont Fire Company Tower 13 arrived to find a two story home with smoke showing. Engine 18 established a water supply and stretched to the second floor where they were met with hoarding conditions and high heat. The fire extended into the attic space via knee walls and eventually through the roof. Engine 18 operated for three hours before clearing the scene.

The New Castle City Police Department has issued a Traffic Advisory for Saturday June 13th.

โ€œSeparation Day Parade Traffic Advisory โ€“ Saturday, June 13

The New Castle City Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that the annual Separation Day Parade will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 13.

The attached map outlines anticipated road closures and parking restrictions associated with the parade route. Residents are encouraged to review the map and make travel plans in advance, as access to certain areas will be limited throughout the event.

Traffic Control Officers (TCOs) will be positioned along the route prior to the parade to assist with traffic flow and facilitate the safe movement of participants and spectators. Residents should expect limited access and intermittent traffic restrictions before the event, with full road closures taking effect at approximately 11:30 AM.

Please plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted restrictions and directions provided by Traffic Control Officers. We ask everyone to be patient and respectful of personnel working to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all.

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to celebrating Separation Day with our community.โ€
