🇺🇸 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗔𝗬, 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗔! 🇺🇸

Today we take a moment to recognize the hardworking Hoosiers who make our communities strong — the people who work in our factories, farms, small businesses, schools, hospitals, construction sites, restaurants, offices and countless other places across our state.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮'𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽, 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

As we look toward the future, I believe our job as public servants is to make sure that hard work is rewarded and that the communities people work so hard to build remain strong.

That means:

💰 𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗧𝗔𝗫𝗘𝗦 — keeping taxes fair and making sure our local communities have the resources they need to thrive.

📚 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 — giving our children the education and opportunities they need to build their own future right here in Indiana.

🌾 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗦 — protecting the farms and agricultural heritage that have sustained our families and communities for generations.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮.

This Labor Day, thank you to every Hoosier who gets up each morning, goes to work, takes care of a family, runs a business, tends a farm, teaches a child or serves their community.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮'𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.

This Labor Day, I’m thinking about what work is supposed to mean in America.

During the FDR administration, our country made a commitment to working people — that hard work should provide dignity, opportunity, and a chance to build a better life for your family. Those policies helped create stronger communities and a growing middle class.

So I have to ask a simple question about Indiana:

𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳?

Are our young people finding good-paying jobs here?
Can working families afford to raise their children?
Are our small towns growing stronger?
Can a person work hard and still get ahead?

I believe we can do better.

I believe Indiana should be a place where our children can stay, find good jobs, raise their families, and build a future right here at home.

This Labor Day, I’m grateful for every Hoosier who works hard to keep our communities going — from our farmers and factory workers to our teachers, nurses, tradespeople, small-business owners, and everyone who gets up and goes to work every day.

𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀.
