April went by so quickly, and we are grateful for all that was accomplished during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Looking back, we are especially thankful for the opportunity to recognize local professionals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to survivors through compassionate, victim-centered service. 💙
On April 24th, Arise Lawrence County hosted a Sexual Assault Awareness Month Recognition Event honoring individuals who continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of survivors throughout our community.
This year’s honorees included:
• Jonathan Miller, Assistant District Attorney for Lawrence County
• Trooper Carl Hill, Pennsylvania State Police
• Officer Scott Hedland, Neshannock Township Police Department
We were also honored to hear remarks from District Attorney Joshua Lamancusa on the importance of victim-centered response and to receive a proclamation from Lawrence County Commissioners Dan Vogler and Chris Sainato recognizing April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Thank you as well to Assistant District Attorney Emily Sanchez-Parodi, Stephanie Benincase, and everyone who joined us in recognizing the importance of survivor-centered advocacy and response.
Speaking about the importance of the event, Stephanie Benincase, Chief Operating Officer of Arise, shared:
“Because this work is so challenging, it’s important that we take the time to recognize those who are already serving with compassion, integrity, and consistency. People like our honorees set the standard for what victim-centered response should look like across our community.”
Thank you to everyone helping create a community where survivors are supported, heard, and treated with dignity, respect, and care.
