We are excited to celebrate Rose Minio, Paraprofessional, for being named a 2027 Educational Support Professional of the Year (ESPY) honoree!

Sponsored by the Delaware Department of Education, the ESPY awards recognize educational support professionals who go above and beyond to make a difference for students, staff, and families. Honorees are nominated by their peers and members of the community for their outstanding work and dedication.

Rose will join other Colonial ESPY honorees, with one individual selected to represent our district at the Delaware ESPY Awards and compete for the title of Delaware Educational Support Professional of the Year!

New Castle County school districts are excited to partner for the 2026–2027 Special Education Parent Council Family Learning Series. These monthly virtual sessions are designed to support, inform, and empower families by sharing helpful resources and information on topics identified by families.

Join us virtually on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00–7:00 p.m., beginning October 7! We look forward to learning, connecting, and strengthening partnerships with families across New Castle County.

🎓 SUCCESS STORY: Alexander Shumate, William Penn Class of 2023!

Alexander’s journey through William Penn’s Digital Media program shows what can happen when classroom learning turns into real-world experience.

📸 9th Grade: Learned the fundamentals of photography, videography, social media, graphic design and web design.
🎥 10th Grade: Built his photography skills by learning strategies from internationally known photographers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
💼 11th Grade: Learned how to run a photography business.
🤝 12th Grade: Learned how to network and build relationships with clients.

Today, Alexander is putting it all together as a professional entrepreneur in photography and videography, working with clients in commercial and sports imagery.

We love seeing our Colonials take the skills they developed at William Penn and turn them into a career. ❤️🖤
