Congratulations to Firefighter Jen on passing her probationary board and becoming an interior firefighter! Jen brings more than 30 years of fire service experience, beginning in 1992 after growing up around the firehouse with her father, a longtime volunteer in Greenwich. Throughout her time, she has developed a strong passion for firefighter training, education, and safety, earning certifications including Fire Instructor III and Incident Safety Officer. We’re proud to have Jen as part of the team and grateful for the experience and knowledge she brings to the department. Congratulations, Jen!

Huge congratulations to Firefighter Karla! Karla has put in a lot of hard work, completing Firefighter I, passing her probationary board, and earning her status as an interior firefighter. Today we honor and thank all who have served our country. On this Veterans Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to Assistant Chief Kims and Firefighter Rzasa for their previous service, and to Firefighter Wilkins, who is currently deployed. The New Canaan Fire Department is currently conducting our annual hydrant testing. This testing allows us to confirm hydrants are working properly, measure water flow, and identify any maintenance needs.

During testing, you may notice temporary discoloration or brown water in your home. This is normal and caused by natural sediment being stirred in the water lines. If this happens you can run cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

There is no safety concern, and water service will remain active. Thank you for your patience as we work to keep New Canaan safe!
