We're excited to announce the 10th Annual Public Safety Day on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the New Buffalo Township Public Safety Building!

Public Safety Day is a great opportunity to meet the men and women who serve and protect our community while enjoying a fun-filled afternoon with family and friends.

It is with regret that New Buffalo Township must announce the postponement of the Tribute Plaza Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that was scheduled for June 16.

Due to unforeseen construction issues that require additional attention, the Township is not yet comfortable moving forward with the grand opening. While we know many residents, veterans, and supporters have been looking forward to this special event, we believe it is important to take the time necessary to ensure the project is completed to the highest standard.

Tribute Plaza is more than just a public space—it is a lasting tribute to the men and women who have served our country. We want this to be a place our veterans, their families, and our entire community can be proud of for generations to come. For that reason, we will not settle for anything less than excellence.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these final details. A new ribbon-cutting date will be announced as soon as it is determined.
