The New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs of GFWC is the largest volunteer women's service org

Founded in 1894, the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs of GFWC (NJSFWC), a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, provides opportunities for education, leadership training, and community service through participation in local clubs, enabling members to make a difference in the lives of others, one project at a time. There are approximately 8,000 members in 200 clubs located throughout New Jersey.

A group of Roxbury Woman' s Club members recently had a wonderful tour of the Seeing Eye Morristown Visitor Center! A volunteer walked us through all the steps they do to insure that, in addition to training the dogs, they match up the dogs with people's personalities! We also heard from a trainer, someone who had gone through the process, along with several dog handlers and people who brought the current puppies they are fostering. It was an amazing experience and many thanks went out to member Judi I. for organizing the outing!

Grab your sneakers & perhaps a holiday costume and register for the 8th Annual Haddonfield Snowflake Certified 5K Run/Walk on Sat. Dec 5, 2026, in Haddonfield! The run/walk will again start in Crows Woods, Haddonfield. The Evening Membership Department of the Haddon Fortnightly is once again sponsoring this fun event. This year’s event will benefit The Starting Point and Teen Su***de Prevention. There will be a free yoga class for anyone signed up. The class will be held at The Haddon Fortnightly building on Fri., December 4th at 7 pm, bring your own mat, water to be provided. Come and enjoy the best runner experience in the area.

The race will be held rain or shine at Crows Woods Complex (957 E Atlantic Ave in Haddonfield, NJ) and will start at 9 am with check in 7:00 – 8:30 am. There will be a Costume Contest at 8:30 and pre-race stretching by Mosaic Health at 8:40 am. There will be prizes in several categories as well as tech shirts and snowflake medals. The Woman’s Civic Club of Hammonton spent the last week of August getting back to school needs ready for local school nurses. Hammonton High School and Hammonton Middle School were presented with girls sanitary product comfort kits. Inside each of the 80 zippered cases are several tampons, pads and pantyliners . The Robert Capoferri Early Childhood Center received 70 brand new boys pull on shorts, pants, and briefs.

Members took a Meadowlands Discovery Eco Tour through the lower tidal reaches of the Hackensack River and its estuary, the Meadowlands. Our tour guide, Captain Bill Sheehan, detailed the struggles to protect the wetlands as we maneuvered the boat under highway and train bridges. We visited numerous wetlands, including the Mill Creek Marsh, Kingsland Creek, Berry’s Creek Canal, and the Sawmill Creek Wildlife Management Area – the “Jewel of the Meadowlands”. During the two-hour tour, we saw a variety of wildlife, including shorebirds, waterfowl, herons, ospreys, and a bald eagle. The tour ended as the sun set over the American Way Mall. Come to the Haddon Fortnightly, Kings Highway and Grove Streets in Haddonfield, on October 2, 2026 and play Bingo and Bunco! Doors open at 6:15pm with games starting at 6:45pm. Tickets will be $40. There will also be family friendly Bunco upstairs for only $20. If you bring something non-perishable for the Food Pantry, you’ll get 3 extra cards for Bingo or an additional door prize tix for Bunco players. Bring your own BYOB and munches for your table or purchase water and pretzels from us. There will be a 50/50 drawing and raffle baskets. Proceeds will benefit HMHS scholarship programs and The Haddon Fortnightly. The Woman's Club of Paramus held a jam packed September general membership meeting! A great big HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY to Anna, a member of the club for 45 years! Paramus mayor Chris DiPiazza presented Anna with a town Proclamation to acknowledge the milestone. An NJSFWC pin and certificate were presented to Ann for 50 years of club membership and the GCI delegate spoke of her experience in June at Douglass College. Members of the club's music department performed for the birthday celebration. Congratulations to all!

Earlier this summer, Blair Woman's Club Service Project benefited Veterans Haven North in Glen Gardner, NJ, as members donated Twin XL bedding items from the facility's wish list. We also partnered with Key to Kindness- helping locally to help expand this collection to support even more veterans at VHN. A huge thank you to everyone that supported this effort and a "shout out" to Blue Bird Antiques & More and Village Sundaes for being drop-off locations for it!
