Today, Elizabeth Warren suspended her campaign for president. This campaign may be over, but this fight is not. It may take a new form, but we will persist.
Over the past six months, we’ve been motivated, energized, and inspired. We completed 52 phonebanking shifts. We called hundreds of voters across the country. We heard from policy makers and people impacted by those policies right here at Rutgers. We talked about the policies that matter, and then took action to make those policies a reality. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to everyone who showed up, phonebanked, presented, and gave their time to a cause bigger than any one of us.
It’s been an incredible journey so far, but it is far from over. Warren may no longer be in this race, but the values we all believe in are very much on the line - up and down the ballot and all around our country. We urge everyone to not give up, but to redouble our efforts in fighting for the causes we believe in - whether that is supporting another presidential candidate, fighting for a democratic majority in the Senate, supporting local races, or even getting involved in advocacy around specific issues.
Regardless of where we decide to put our effort, we will continue to embody the values Warren put front and center: empathy, kindness, generosity, and enormous passion and grit. And of course, we will always remember to dream big, and fight hard.
