June is Men's Health Month! πŸŽπŸ‹οΈπŸ§
While annual physicals, screenings, and regular exercise are important aspects of men’s health, mental well-being is equally critical to men's quality of life.
Just as the body needs care and attention, so does the mind. While men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women, in a given year less than 15% of men will seek support for their mental health (CDC, National Health Interview Survey 2019).

CMHA was proud to attend and present at the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) annual Evidence-Based Practice Conference at the Connecticut Convention Center!

Congratulations to Community Connections for Survivors staff Dionna Levy, Kassion Lewis-Little, and Thelma Serna, who presented β€œFrom Victim to Thriving Survivor,” highlighting the meaningful, trauma-informed work happening across our programs.

CMHA was also honored with four statewide recognitions from CHDI, including recognition of Maritza Rios-Colon, Nichole Pagan, and CMHA’s MATCH team for their outstanding impact in evidence-based care, symptom reduction, and serving children in languages other than English.

These recognitions reflect CMHA’s commitment to accessible, culturally responsive, evidence-based treatment for children and families.

Thank you to the Client Wellness Project Committee, our volunteers, Senior Leadership team, and all CMHA staff who helped assemble and distribute wellness bags to our clients during May Mental Health Awareness Month! πŸ’™

This initiative has been a tremendous success two years in a row because of the dedication and teamwork of so many people who brought it to life. Not only has it been meaningful for our clients, it’s also been a great opportunity for staff to connect and collaborate.

Each wellness bag was thoughtfully put together to promote overall well-being and serve as a reminder that caring for our mental and physical health matters. Small gestures can make a big impact, and we’re grateful to everyone who contributed their time and energy to make this possible.
