Last Monday, our New Britain PAL Junior Opportunity League Program wrapped up an incredible fall season with a special experience at the First Tee of Connecticut’s Learning Links Course!
This fall, we proudly welcomed more than 40 kids from right here in New Britain, making it our largest golf program to date! Throughout the season, First Tee Coach and PAL Sergeant Dave McDermott, alongside Officer Pellegrini and First Tee Coach David Ramirez, spent every Monday evening teaching our young golfers the fundamentals of the game while emphasizing sportsmanship, confidence, and life skills.
Our program was honored to be selected as the only program in New England and one of just 30 programs nationwide to receive a PGA Junior League Opportunity Team, fully funded by the PGA TOUR and PGA of America! Thanks to this incredible opportunity, our participants received new golf equipment, team jerseys, and hats, giving them the gear and team spirit to make the most of their experience.
A special thank you to Howie Friday and the entire Stanley Golf Course staff for their continued support and for helping make this program such a success. We are also grateful to First Tee of Connecticut, PGA Junior League, the PGA TOUR, and the PGA of America for their commitment to growing the game and creating opportunities for our youth.
Our program continues to grow every season, and we couldn’t be more excited to build on this momentum. We look forward to continuing our partnerships and getting our New Britain kids back on the course soon!
Stay tuned for our winter and spring sessions! ⛳️
