Greater New Britain Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Inc.'s Pathways/Senderos Center. Our methodology involves creating a parallel family
structure at the Center.

Our mission is to eliminate teen pregnancy by addressing its root causes, assuring high school graduation, and promoting adult self-sufficiency. We make sure the children feel
safe, welcomed and nurtured, so that learning and
skill-building occur. In order to interrupt the
intergenerational cycles of teen parenting and poverty,
our staff strives to develop in each child:
-the competency and mo

tivation to achieve success;
-the competency and motivation to avoid early parenthood;
-the capability to envision a pathway to a hopeful future that includes
education and careers, rather than parenting too soon

Our annual Pathways Backpack Giveaway was a huge success! We loved helping our students get ready for a new school year while spending time together and getting creative with a fun bead activity.

What does it take to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching place for New Britain youth every day?
It costs approximately $8,000 every week to operate Pathways/Senderos, including staffing, rent, transportation, and nutritious snacks for the youth we serve. That investment allows us to provide free programs and services that help youth succeed academically, build confidence and leadership skills, explore careers, and develop the tools they need for a successful future.
On September 27, 2026, we will host our 27th Annual Pathways Walk-a-Thon at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain, and we are asking our community to walk alongside us, not only on the day of the event, but by investing in the future of our youth.

Last week, our Summer Youth Employment participants had the opportunity to learn from Junior Achievement of Southwest New England through engaging, hands-on workshops focused on career readiness, financial literacy, and workplace success. Students explored valuable skills that will help prepare them for future careers while building confidence in their abilities.
A huge thank you to Junior Achievement of Southwest New England for investing in our youth and inspiring them to dream big, set goals, and prepare for bright futures. Together, we're empowering the next generation of leaders!

Yesterday, our Summer Youth Employment students had the incredible opportunity to visit Connecticut Foodshare for an inspiring behind-the-scenes tour!
A heartfelt thank you to Jessica Vargas, Network Relations Representative, and CEO Jason Jakubowski for taking the time to welcome our students, share the organization’s mission, and provide an inside look at how Connecticut Foodshare works to fight hunger across our communities.
Experiences like these help our youth explore career pathways. We are grateful for the opportunity!

🎉Celebrating Our Incredible Alumni!🎉

Please join us in congratulating Syed Ali, a proud Pathways/Senderos alumnus, who was recently recognized by Mayor Bobby Sanchez with a City of New Britain Proclamation in honor of his outstanding achievements and commitment to serving others.

Syed's journey with Pathways/Senderos began in 6th grade, and he remained an active participant until graduating from high school in 2020. Since then, he has earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Saint Joseph, generously returned to volunteer and mentor our current participants, and is now taking the next exciting step in his journey, attending Michigan State University to pursue his dream of becoming a physician.

Syed exemplifies what is possible through hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to giving back to the community that helped shape him. We couldn't be prouder to watch him continue making a difference and inspiring the next generation of Pathways/Senderos youth.
