Thank you to Consolidated School District of New Britain and Smalley Elementary School for inviting us to help welcome students and families on the first day back to school! 📚✨

Earlier this week, we were happy to join Mayor Bobby Sanchez, the CCSU Women’s Volleyball team, and the New Britain Police Department in welcoming students and families as they kicked off the new school year.

The first day back can bring a mix of excitement, nerves, and anticipation, and we were happy to be there with a warm welcome. We’re wishing all the students a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and plenty of great memories.

We’re proud to be part of such a supportive community! 🐝

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello at last week’s Back to School Bash at Walnut Hill Park held by Consolidated School District of New Britain! 🐝

We had such a great time connecting with local families and children. It was especially nice to see familiar faces from Smalley Elementary School , who we’ve proudly partnered with throughout recent years. We also enjoyed chatting with Mayor Bobby Sanchez and connecting with fellow nonprofits serving the New Britain community!

One of our favorite parts of the event was inviting families to contribute to our Community Poem. We asked students to share what they love most about school, and we received so many creative and thoughtful responses such as “Gym”, “Making Friends”, and “Recess”! ✏️

We were also happy to share information about our art programs, affordable housing, and free financial education workshops.

Thank you again to everyone who came out and made the day so much fun. We hope everyone has a wonderful back-to-school season, and we can’t wait to see you again next year! 📚

Every month, we highlight one of our NHS-Gallery 66 Artist Members. In July, we were so happy to feature Susan Goldberg! 🎨

This month, we're proud to shine the spotlight on Susan Goldberg, our featured Artist Member at NHS-Gallery 66!

Susan has been a valued part of our Gallery 66 community, sharing her thoughtful and inspiring artwork in many of our exhibitions. After retiring from teaching art in Hartford, she dedicated herself to creating her own work full-time, bringing decades of experience and creativity to every piece.

Her abstract paintings and prints explore the beauty of line, color, texture, and movement. Susan's current work combines relief linoleum block printing with monotype techniques and incorporates handset letterpress type, creating unique pieces inspired by her daily walks and observations.

We're honored to feature Susan and celebrate her artistic journey. Stop by NHS-Gallery 66 to experience her work and learn more about the talented artists who make our creative community so special.

This exhibition celebrates the unique voices, perspectives and creativity of our talented artist members. There is no set theme, giving you the freedom to submit artwork that best represents your artistic voice.
