🚨BIG NEWS FOR NEW BRIGHTON FIRE DEPARTMENT🚨

The New Brighton Fire Department is pleased to announce that we have been awarded $57,404 to purchase a new utility vehicle, which will serve as a vital command unit for our department.

This funding was made possible through a 2024 Local Share Account (LSA) grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. This new vehicle will modernize our fleet and improve our ability to coordinate on-scene operations, ensuring we can continue to serve the New Brighton community effectively and safely.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to PA State Rep. Roman Kozak and State Senator Elder Vogel Jr. for their assistance in the grant application process. We are grateful for their strong, continued support of the fire service and their dedication to public safety in our district.

OFFICIAL RELEASE

At approximately 7:03 AM, the New Brighton Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Daughtery Township Fire Department with a possible structure fire.

Captain 8612 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from all sides of a single-story brick ranch home, establishing command.

Engine 84 arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and deployed a hand line for fire attack. Upon entry while searching for the seat of the fire, Engine 84’s crew located an unconscious victim inside the structure. The crew immediately split—continuing the fire attack while removing the victim outside within one minute of discovery.

With no EMS unit yet on scene, CPR was initiated by a New Brighton firefighter along with a patrol officer from the New Brighton Area Police Department. Medic Rescue Ambulance Service arrived shortly thereafter and assumed patient care.

Tower 84 and Engine 84 crews completed the fire attack and primary search, with no additional victims found. Mutual aid departments, including Pulaski Fire Department and the New Sewickley Fire District, assisted with water supply and overhaul operations.

The victim was subsequently flown by air medical helicopter, with the Rochester Fire Department providing landing zone coverage.

The New Brighton Fire Department extends its best wishes to the victim and their family, and remains proud to serve and protect our communities.
