Did you know that Pennsylvania notaries are older than the United States itself? Long before 1776, early PA notaries were appointed by William Penn himself. Even Benjamin Franklin signed notary commissions back in 1787!But being a notary isn't all serious history.

Pre-planning is so important! Many of my mobile notary trips are to nursing homes, hospitals, or some type of care facility. I do a lot of will notarizing, POA witnessing etc. No one expects things to happen in life, but having your documents ready if something did happen will help ease the stress and burden on your family. There are many sites that offer free downloads of paperwork for wills, POA, and end of life planning. I am available to notarize these documents if you prepare them yourself or need a loved ones documents notarized. Don’t wait till it’s to late to make your will or medical or financial power of attorney. I can also recommend a really good attorney who specializes in this field if needed. ✍️

Notary Publics cannot give legal advice. Notary documents must have verbiage on them in order for a Notary to sign and notarize them.

Happy Thursday!
I have been doing a lot of work lately at hospitals and elderly care facilities for customers who need legal documents signed for Power of Attorney and Medical Power of Attorney. A lot of people do not realize the importance of having these documents pre-prepared. No one wants to believe that we might be in a situation that someone would have to act on our behalf. Just a Thursday tip to look into establishing your own Will and POA. You don't have to have a fancy lawyer, some documents are on line or in Staples, for example. It is suggested to have an attorney to help you, but if you do choose to do it on your own, I am here for your notary needs. Here is an intersting article about pre-planning.

Dying without a will can be costly and eliminate your ability to plan or provide for loved ones.
