From Mrs. Wendorf...

For those who don't know the class, Child Guidance is a course that prepares students to be early childhood educators (infancy-5 year olds) and provides students with internship experience at Lone Star Early Childhood Center.

I am proud to announce that all of my child guidance students have earned certifications in both the knowledge-based written exam and skills-based performance for Early Childhood Education and Care, totaling 10 certifications for the program! On top of that 3 of my students scored so highly on their knowledge based exam that they earned 3 hours of college credit in Child Development. Students have been working all year towards earning these certifications so please help me in congratulating them if you see them!

⭐️ As CTE Month comes to a close, we’re wrapping up a month of celebrating the incredible programs, spaces, and students that make Career & Technical Education so impactful in NBISD. From student interviews to behind-the-scenes looks inside our classrooms, we’ve loved highlighting the hands-on learning experiences that prepare our students for real-world success.

We’re proud to feature our CTE alumni — NBHS graduates who turned their passions into professions and are using the skills they gained in our programs to thrive in their careers. Their journeys are proof that CTE programs make a difference — opening doors, building confidence, and creating opportunities far beyond graduation.

In honor of CTE Month, we're highlighting our successful alumni all month long! 🎓✨

Today, we are proud to spotlight NBHS alumnus Caleb Shipman. During his time at NBHS, Caleb was actively involved in the Agriculture program and served as an FFA Officer, developing leadership skills and a strong foundation in the industry.

He went on to attend Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2024. Today, Caleb is putting his expertise to work as a General Foreman for National Beef Packing Company, continuing his journey in the agriculture and livestock industry.
