1. SITUATION. Marines, spouses and family from the one of the most exciting eras, 1978-1982 and formative period of MCAGCC have not seen each other since that time.

2. MISSION. For all hands to arrive safely at Twentynine Palms and conduct a reunion of personnel we have not seen in 32 – 37 years and renew old friendships.

b. Concept of the Operation.
7 Feb 2020 FRI Night - Happy Hour 1700 - 2100 with heavy hors d’ oeuvres
8 Feb 2020 SAT Morn - Breakfast (buffet line) 0800-0930 - the usual, eggs, SOS, etc. Self-Serve
8 Feb 2020 SAT Morn - Picture 1000 taken by PAO on bleachers at top of parade deck in front of Headquarters, MCAGCC
8 Feb 2020 SAT Morn - Brief by MAGTF Training 1000 - 1100 on exercise program
8 Feb 2020 SAT Noon - 1200 -1800 free time (lunch is on their own; tour old bn areas, gun parks etc - Some will need to go sniff a howitzer, tank or truck)
8 Feb 2020 SAT Eve - 1800-1900 Social hour in old O'Club
8 Feb 2020 SAT Eve - 1900 Dinner buffet line

Individual guests around room get to tell stories of their fondest memories at Twentynine Palms.
9 Feb 2020 SUN all day - free time; depart
(1) Scheme of Maneuver. Arrive by POV or rental car, check into accommodations.
(2) Fire Support Plan. None.
c. Tasks.
(1) MCAGCC:
MCCS:
Coordinate with PMO for vetting all individuals without a retiree ID card with Visitors List provided by 2020 REUNION MCAGCC 29 PALMS representative.
Coordinate with PX for access for all individuals without a retiree ID card and/or have souvenir items at registration with a cashier or means for the two Marines to accept those funds.
Coordinate providing two Marines (arrive prior to 1700) to help with registration Friday night for “Happy Hour” and Sat night for Social Hour/Evening Chow.
Coordinate with PAO to take a group picture in front of CP at top of parade deck and to possibly see if PAO would like to interview/record any interviews with old hands of what it was like at MCAGCC “back in the day” for historical purposes.
Coordinate with MAGTF Training to provide brief on evolution to current training.
Coordinate for a USMC color guard for the opening Saturday night
CATERING AND BUSINESS EVENTS:
Provide facility for reunion (Old Officer’s Club)
Provide bar, standard stock of beer, wine, liquor with bartender
Friday night 1700-2100
Saturday night 1800 – 1900; post dinner 2100-2200
Provide heavy Hors d’ oeuvres for “Happy Hour” Friday night
Provide catered chow
Saturday morning
Saturday evening
Provide long table with black table cloth to put pictures of the deceased Marines on
Provide long table for the two Marines for registration
Friday evening before “Happy Hour” starts
Saturdy evening before the social hour starts
Provide podium with PA system for speakers
Provide military music on CD for sound system with National Anthem, Navy Song and Marines Hymn. (Sound system?)
PAO:
Provide photo support for group photo.
Provide admin support for registration.
Consider interviewing Old Hands on what is was like then.
2020 REUNION MCAGCC 29 PALMS:
Establish reunion association with financial instruments to receive funds.
Send out OpOrd.
Send invitation to CG, MCAGCC.
Pay for bar tab of CG, Marines of color guard and registration support Marines if they would like to stay and mingle with old hands.
Take final count of 24 January 2020.
Receive and collate RSVP’s and forward to MCAGCC MCCS & Catering and Events Manager.
Furnish names of GO’s to MCCS.
Collate Visitors List and forward to MCCS.
Receive payments in advance or at the door Friday night or Saturday night with the help of the two registration support Marines.
Provide adhesive name tags and markers for guests.
Ensure bar minimum is met.
INDIVIDUAL GUESTS:
RSVP by 24 Jan 2020 by email.
Be prepared to tell a funny story about your tour at Twentynine Palms during the dinner. Can be embarrassing at anyone’s expense. . .
If you have a deceased Marine, please bring a framed 8x10 or 5x7 picture of them to put on Table of Honor during dinner.
d. Coordinating Instructions.
(1) Individuals shall make lodging reservations
(2) Individuals shall furnish own transportation
(3) Individuals shall fill out visitors spread sheet if you do not have a current retired military ID and send back as an email attachment. This will be furnished to PMO accordingly so they have names at the gate to allow access without retired military ID card or CAC.
(4) Individuals may RSVP to either Denny Lindeman or Stew Rayfield via email, simultaneously by 24 Jan 2020 (put both email addresses on all traffic). Subject Line should read: 29 PALMS REUNION (YOUR LAST NAME) only please. You can RSVP via email. If you would prefer to fill out our Reunion Work Sheet yourself, TAB 5, replace (MASTER) in the header with YOUR LAST NAME and send it back as an email attachment with 29 PALMS REUNION (YOUR LAST NAME) in the subject line of the email. This is the roster that will be used at registration and furnished to MCAGCC. IF you do not want to fill out the spread sheet, just give us applicable info in the text body of your email since we will be keeping the master roster.
(5) Payment can be sent in via check to Denny Lindeman, or be paid via check or cash upon arrival and check in on Friday night
(6) Weather is expected to be from 30’s to 50’s with light breeze. Please consider field jacket, soft cover (or equivalent) and sunglasses. You remember.
(7) Any changes/additions/alibis will be Dist A via FragO.
(8) Please disseminate to those that may not have gotten the word. If you do, please info LtCol Lindeman and Maj Rayfield on the cc line. Make sure you send all attachments along with OpOrd.
(9) Anyone stationed at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms may attend, not necessarily limited to specified era. Some are looking for a vehicle to just come and see their old stomping ground.
(10) The layout of the base has changed, the gate has moved. See MAP, MCAGCC.
