13:35 Lake Dunlap was requested by McQueeney VFD to assist with a large hay field fire. Brush 51, Tender 51, and Chief 51 responded. Units were on scene for approximately 4 hours before returning to service. Lake Dunlap responded to a total of 6 calls Saturday including another hayfield fire on the East side of the county.

Our golf cart raffle is now live!

GREAT NEWS: We have worked out the issues with Shopify and online raffle ticket sales are live again!

Lake Dunlap VFD is raffling off this beautiful 4 seat golf cart. Funds will be used to fix our fire station and add an additional bay for a new grant funded fire truck arriving in 2027.

We’re keeping an eye on Tropical Depression #2 in the Gulf.

It’s still early in the development of this system, and forecast tracks and intensity can change over the coming days. Regardless of where it ultimately goes, it’s a good reminder that hurricane season is active and now is the time to review your emergency plans, check your disaster supply kits, and make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

Our team will continue to monitor the system closely and will provide updates if there are any potential impacts to our area.

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Southwestern Guadalupe County in south central Texas...
North central Wilson County in south central Texas...
East central Bexar County in south central Texas...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 612 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Calaveras Lake, or 13 miles south of Converse,
moving north at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
St. Hedwig around 615 PM CDT.
Zuehl around 635 PM CDT.
Schertz and Cibolo around 640 PM CDT.
New Berlin around 650 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Adkins
and Friendly Corner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Lake Dunlap responded to Creek rd to assist Marion with a high water rescue. Lake Dunlap’s swift water rescuers located 1 victim and was able to get them to safety.
