CASA of Central Texas, Inc.

CASA of Central Texas provides high quality, best interest advocacy for children in the child welfare system in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe & Hays.

We train and empower dedicated CASA volunteers to ensure children’s needs are met and their voices lifted. CASA is always looking for volunteers to be matched up with children who are currently in the State foster system because they were removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Volunteers are appointed by the judge overseeing the case to advocate for the best interest of the children and are often the most consistent person in the child's life. CASA's role is to recruit potential volunteer, properly screen and and provide training, and support volunteers as they serve on their case. Free training sessions are held throughout the year. More CASA volunteers are needed, we are currently serving about half of the children in State care.

Our next training cycle starts October 10th and meets weekly for six weeks for 3.5 hours each (go to our website to see the training schedule). in the life of a child by advocating for their best interests while they're in foster care. The CASA process is about learning the child’s story, engaging with them and their support network, recommending solutions, and advocating in court—all to help children achieve safe, permanent, and nurturing homes.

Simply Me began as a way to honor the personalities of local children, but it quickly became something much bigger. August was a busy month--our team was here, there, and everywhere!
