A big thank you to Donna with Donna Bakes for graciously donating birthday treats for our Meals on Wheels homebound seniors celebrating May birthdays! 🎂

These sweet surprises brought smiles to so many this month, including one very special senior celebrating an incredible 99th birthday! We love seeing the New Braunfels community come together to support one another and help us make sure our seniors feel remembered, celebrated, and cared for.

🌿💜 Senior Adventures at the Blanco Lavender Festival! 💜🌿

What a wonderful day of friendship, laughter, and exploration at the Blanco Lavender Festival! Our group enjoyed browsing unique vendors, admiring beautiful flowers, discovering local artwork, and making sweet memories together.

From lavender treats and handcrafted treasures to colorful flower fields and lots of smiles, this trip was a reminder that you’re never too old for a little adventure!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We loved seeing new friendships grow and watching everyone enjoy the sights, scents, and beauty of Blanco.

💜 Fun was had.
💜 Memories were made.

🇺🇸☕ Veterans Coffee: Where Stories, Service & Brotherhood Continue ☕🇺🇸

Yesterdays Veterans Coffee was more than just coffee and conversation. It was a reminder that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.

Around these tables, friendships are strengthened, stories are shared, laughter is heard, and support is given. Whether it’s swapping memories, discussing life’s challenges, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee together, these moments matter.

Thank you to every veteran who joined us today. Your sacrifices, dedication, and continued commitment to one another are what make this community so special.

💙 A BIG thank you to the amazing members of the National Charity League andYoung Men's Service League for spending time at the Senior Center helping us pack Emergency Meals for our Meals on Wheels clients! 🥫💙

Your teamwork, kindness, and willingness to serve made such a difference. These emergency meals provide an extra layer of support for our home-delivered meal clients when unexpected needs arise. We could not do this work without the support of a generous grant and our dedicated volunteers. 💙

A special thank you to Christy from Hear in Texas for providing the bags, joining in the fun, and helping make the day even more special! 🛍️😊

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Julie Friesenhahn 🌟

This month, we're proud to recognize Julie Friesenhahn, who has been delivering meals with Meals on Wheels for the past 5 years.

After a lifetime of caring for others as a nurse, Julie says delivering meals is just as rewarding. She loves seeing clients enjoy their meals and values being a friendly face and listening ear along the way.

One client who especially touched her heart was an 86-year-old woman she delivered to for years, offering love, smiles, and companionship during her last years.

When asked to describe her volunteer experience in one word, Julie chose: INVALUABLE

Thank you, Julie, for your kindness, compassion, and dedication to our homebound seniors. We are so grateful for all you do! ❤️
