Hooray for the Spurs for helping to distract (most) everyone from the municipal runoffs!! πŸ™ŒπŸ€πŸ†πŸ˜

Huge crowd last at the TCEQ meeting Tuesday evening. Thank you to everyone who showed up, and to those there in spirit.

Huge crowd last at the TCEQ meeting Tuesday evening. Thank you to everyone who showed up, and to those there in spirit.

Standing room ONLY in SD25! A massive THANK YOU to the Canyon Lake community for showing up to protect our precious natural resources. Seeing a packed house at the TCEQ public meeting for the Canyon Ranch WWTF permit renewal proves how much our neighbors care. I was proud to request this official hearing and I will always fight to ensure you have the right to look regulators in the eye, ask tough questions, and voice your concerns.

The election season that never ends...... it just keeps going, and going, and going.

The March Primary Runoffs are complete - candidates are in place for both R and D parties; now it's to see what other candidates will file to run, which I applaud those who do in a largely, 2-party State. But there is still the Municipal elections runoff coming up June 13, with early voting running June 1-June 6; June 8-9.

If you live in the city limits of New Braunfels, will have a choice between 2 candidates for Mayor: the incumbent, Neal Linnartz and challenger Michael French. The other election will be for city council district 6: incumbent April Ryan and challenger Nikki Shaw.

If you do NOT live within the city limits, you can sit and watch from the bleachers; if you DO live within the city limits, please exercise your right to vote in at least the Mayoral election; only those residents who live in D-6 can vote in this race.

It will definitely be interesting to watch the results come in and I truly hope and pray our New Braunfels community can heal and come together, regardless of the outcome.

Texas Attorney General - Chip Roy
Texas Railroad Commissioner - Bo French
Court of Criminal Appeals place 3 - Thomas Smith

Comal County Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1 (precinct 1 voters only)
Comal County Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3 (precinct 3 voters only)

I've lived in New Braunfels for 25 years. Though I am not a native, I am committed to the betterment of the community and dove in headfirst on Day 1 and have been ever since.

Everyone has an opinion about the election and process, which is good, but we must be truth seekers in this. And get involved. It's easy to sit on the sidelines with a keyboard and speak to what's happening; but it takes a little more to actually put skin in the game to keep this town special and make this town something special again. If you've done so, thank you!! If not, there's still time.

If you're from here, remember why you stayed. If you moved here, remember why you chose to.

The New Braunfels mayoral race between incumbent Neal Linnartz and challenger Michael French has been extended for 6 weeks due to State law taking precedent over municipal law. French won the race but not the majority, which is 50% +1 vote, therefore by law, a runoff of the top 2 vote receivers.

This is not a statement of siding with either candidate, but simply a statement of procedural law.

Instead of wasting time on Facebook complaining of the process, supporters should be advocating for their candidate on why he should be elected. 6 weeks will pass by quickly!!

And if French had come in 2nd place, I would fully expect his supporters to want the statute enforced as well.

Every vote counts!

According to the Texas Secretary of State, more than 18.6 million Texans are registered to vote in the March 2026 primary elections, a new record high.

After 8 days of early voting, almost 2.3 million votes have been case, for a statewide turnout of 12.3%. Of all votes, about 52.9% have been in the Democratic primary; 47.1% have been in the Republican primary. For Comal County, only 13.5% of total voters have gone to the polls.

Is it apathy? Not caring? Laziness? Lack of time? It only takes 10-15 minutes to make your way through the ballot. In my opinion, if you don't vote, then your complaints will fall on deaf ears. You have 1 day left to have a say in who represents you. Want some inside tips? PM me and I'll send you my recommendations.
