π Celebrating One Year of Growth at Carolina SeniorCare - New Bern! πΏ
What a beautiful day celebrating Carolina SeniorCare - New Bern's first anniversary with a Garden Party filled with creativity, laughter, friendship, and gratitude.
Our incredible team transformed the center into a garden wonderland with handmade floral centerpieces, each uniquely designed by staff members using items from home. From a repurposed wedding arch to colorful garden-themed displays, every detail reflected the heart and dedication of the people who make this center so special.
Participants joined in the fun by creating festive garden hats, and Chef Jordan delighted everyone with a delicious spread of skewers, desserts, and beautifully prepared refreshments.
One of the most meaningful parts of the celebration was a living art installation created by Alex, Director of Activities. Standing more than six feet tall, the tree symbolized the growth of Carolina SeniorCare - New Bern over the last year. Participants wrote their favorite memories on leaves that were added to the tree, creating a powerful visual reminder of the relationships, experiences, and moments that have flourished here.
The afternoon also included heartfelt reflections from participants and family members about the impact of the PACE program. Geneva shared her journey and spoke movingly about the friendships she has formed and the staff members who feel more like family. Her brother, Mark, described the center as "bright and cheery" and shared how meaningful it is to see participants enjoying activities and experiences they haven't been able to do in years.
His words captured the spirit of the day perfectly:
"I know my sister is still here and doing well because this program is adding to her life."
As we celebrate this milestone, we're grateful for the participants, families, and dedicated team members who make Carolina SeniorCare - New Bern such a special place. Here's to a wonderful first year and many more to come! π
