CCGS April 14, 2026 Program: “Early Craven County, North Carolina Records” featuring Roger Kammerer
On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., the Craven County Genealogical Society will host a free and open to thepublic program “Early Craven County, North Carolina Records” featuring Roger Kammerer of Greenville, North Carolina. This will be both an in-person meeting and an online Zoom meeting this month. At 6:30 p.m., the Craven County Genealogical Society will begin the evening where members and guests are welcome to visit both in-person and online and discuss their research and learn more ways to find their ancestors.
At 7 p.m., Mr. Kammerer will present his “Early Craven County, North Carolina Records” program. He will highlight several of the ways and resources that he has found from his over fifty years of family and Eastern North Carolina history research as they relate to Craven County research. Roger is a renaissance man talented in several areas. He is the director of the May Museum in Farmville, North Carolina https://www.farmvillenc.gov/community/may-museum-park/. He is also an accomplished artist with works in both private and public collections. In addition, he is a noted author of several published family histories, historical volumes, as well as numerous contributions to historical and genealogical journals. He is the co-author of “Forgotten Tales of North Carolina” written with Mr. Tom Painter. He is also one of the founding members and president of the Pitt County Family History Researchers www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ncpcfr/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/pittcountyfamilyresearchers.

He has a wealth of knowledge regarding genealogical research in general and Eastern North Carolina in particular having been an associate of the noted historian Mr. Tucker Reed Littleton (1936-1983) of Swansboro, North Carolina.
