🌟 Celebrating the Partners In Education Annual Spring Luncheon! 🌟

Today’s Partners In Education Annual Spring Luncheon was a packed and inspiring event as educators, administrators, district staff, community members, and friends of public education came together in support of this important fundraiser and “friends-raiser!”

All proceeds from this event benefit Partners In Education, which directly supports Craven County Schools through classroom grants, educator support, and valuable programs such as the BT Store. Over the past 40 years, Partners In Education has provided an incredible $10 million in grants to support teaching and learning across our district.

Dr. Cheeseman, Superintendent, opened the event by highlighting the importance of connections, community, and the powerful impact that strong partnerships have on our schools.

We were also honored to welcome the State Superintendent, Maurice “Mo” Green, as our special guest speaker. He shared an inspiring message about the importance of public education, his vision for success, and the shared goal of making North Carolina the best public school system in the nation by 2030. With the dedication of educators and the support of strong partners like Partners In Education, we know that hand in hand, these goals can become a reality.

Thank you to Partners In Education, the many sponsors, community partners, educators, and everyone who attended today’s luncheon. Your support continues to make a lasting difference for our students, staff, and schools.

Together, we are building brighter futures for Craven County Schools! 💙

🎉 Congratulations to our BT3 Teachers! 🎉

This morning, Craven County Schools proudly celebrated 63 Beginning Teacher 3 (BT3) educators at Grover C. Fields Middle School as they completed their Beginning Teacher journey and transitioned into full teacher status after three successful years of growth, leadership, and learning.

Dr. Cheeseman, Superintendent, opened the celebration with words of wisdom, sharing how his own educational career has evolved through the impact of students, colleagues, and fellow staff members.

Mr. Christian Martin, 2024-2025 Beginning Teacher of the Year, also shared celebratory remarks, honoring the hard work, dedication, and resilience of this outstanding group of educators.

Each BT3 teacher received a certificate and a chair. A special gift encouraging them to relax, reflect, and recharge this summer before the next adventure begins when school starts back in August.

Congratulations to all 63 BT3s on this exciting milestone! We are proud of your commitment to students and grateful for the difference you make each day in Craven County Schools.

A special thank you to Lakecia Brown and Necia Swain, BT Coordinators, and Dr. Neshawn Dawson, Director of Human Resources, for their leadership, support, and dedication to our beginning teachers. We also appreciate the help of our school-based mentors for their caring ways and the time they invested in our BTs.
