New Berlin-Island Grove Firefighters & EMS Squad We are the New Berlin-Island Grove Volunteer Firefighters and EMS members. Must be over 18 and live within the fire protection district.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer Firefighter please apply in person at the New Berlin-Island Grove Firehouse at 101 S Oak the first Monday of each month at 7PM.

The QUEEN OF HEARTS drawing, a charitable initiative supporting the New Berlin Island Grove Firefighters & EMS Squad and the New Berlin Area Community Development League, will restart on April 9th.

The drawing will be held at Shepp's Bar and Grill in New Berlin on Thursday nights at 7:30pm, from April 9 to May 28, and will resume on September 3, 2026, after a summer hiatus.

The starting jackpot is $7,257.

We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Last Thursday at Shepp's Bar and Grill in New Berlin, we had a winner for our Queen of Hearts drawing! JULIE SPRINGER picked #6 and it revealed the Queen of ❤️’s. The winning jackpot was $26,467.00. CONGRATULATIONS JULIE!!

A HUGE thank you goes out to Shepp’s Bar and Grill for hosting the Queen of Hearts and for all their hard work in making this event such a success every week!

The NBIG Firefighters and EMS Squad are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Louis (Junior) Curtis. Junior was a dedicated member of the NBIG Fire Department for 22 years and the New Berlin EMS for 46 years.

Please keep the Curtis family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Junior’s legacy of serving the New Berlin community will never be forgotten.

The NBIG Firefighters and EMS would like to thank everyone who came out to Shepp's Bar & Grill and showed their support for Marj and Pat Reedich after a fire took their home last weekend! We had an amazing turn out and we were able to raise a lot of money to help them with expenses. Our community never ceases to amaze us and always shows up when one of our own is in need! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️

The New Berlin structure fire on Saturday, December 13th, impacted NB-IG Fire & EMS member Marjorie Reedich and her husband, Pat. Marjorie has long been dedicated to serving our community through the EMS squad.

Their home and all of its contents were a total loss.

This Thursday, December 18th, the Queen of Hearts will be held as a benefit to help Marjorie and Pat with expenses. A special raffle will be held, and all 50/50 proceeds will be donated directly to them.

If you are unable to attend but would like to help, donations may be dropped off at Shepp's Bar and Grill or given to any Fire or EMS personnel.

The New Berlin-Island Grove Fire Department would like to congratulate firefighter Stephen McQueen on completing the Basic Operations Firefighter class. The class involves nearly 300 hours of online classroom and hands on training hosted by the Sherman Fire Department and the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal. This is a huge commitment of time and effort and shows the dedication Stephen has for the fire department and community. Great job Stephen!
