The City of New Berlin will begin roadway improvements on July 13 as part of the 2026 Roadway Rehabilitation. The project area is generally located west of S. 124th Street between W. Euclid Avenue and W. Wilbur Drive.

Improvements will include roadway resurfacing, with some sections receiving stormwater improvements and water main replacement. During the rehabilitation project, roadways will remain open to local traffic but closed to through traffic. Construction is expected to continue through October, weather permitting.

Residents and motorists may experience temporary traffic impacts during construction. Drivers are asked to slow down, plan ahead, allow extra travel time, follow posted construction signage, and remain alert in and around work zones to help protect construction crews and the public.

The City of New Berlin FD, PD, Assessors, Building Inspection, GIS and Emergency Management Departments are proud to be members of the Waukesha County and Communities Damage Assessment Team.

We are honored to share that the County's Countywide Damage Assessment Team program has been recognized by the National Association of Counties as a 2026 Best in Category award winner in Risk and Emergency Management.

The award reflects our commitment to collaboration and the hard work of county staff, governmental partners, and the team members across many municipalities who've helped build and sustain this program from a workgroup to a disaster resiliency resource. The program shows what we can accomplish when local governments work together to prepare our communities for disaster, and we're grateful to our partners who've helped make it a success.

An area of rain and embedded storms will move across the region Wednesday morning into the early afternoon hours. There may be a brief break in the rainfall during the mid afternoon (2-5 PM). After 5 PM, if enough instability can develop, thunderstorms that redevelop will pose a risk of damaging winds and large hail. Stay up to date with the forecast for tomorrow.
