Please pray for our Air Evac Lifeteam 133 Grant County, Ky Family!

It is with profound sadness that Air Evac 133 shares the tragic and unexpected loss of our beloved friend and Flight Nurse, Maddy Von Korff.

Maddy was an exceptional flight nurse whose compassion, dedication, and clinical excellence touched countless patients, families, and coworkers throughout her career. While her professional accomplishments were remarkable, those who knew Maddy will remember her most for the person she was—kind, selfless, genuine, and always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting smile.

Maddy was more than a teammate; she was family. She was a trusted friend, a mentor, and a source of strength for so many. Her presence made Air Evac 133 a better place, and her impact on our crew and community will never be forgotten.

During this incredibly difficult time, we ask that you keep Maddy’s family, friends, and all who loved her in your thoughts and prayers. We are grateful for the overwhelming support shown to our Air Evac 133 family as we mourn this heartbreaking loss.

Allen Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Two-Vehicle Collision on KY 1428

ALLEN, KY – On June 16, 2026, at approximately 5:32 p.m., the Allen Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision at the Allen traffic lights on Kentucky Route 1428.

Upon arrival, responders located a red GMC Sonoma and a gold Toyota Camry involved in the crash. The Toyota sustained front-end damage, while the GMC sustained rear-end damage. Fire department personnel provided traffic control to ensure the safety of motorists and emergency responders operating on the scene.

Allen Volunteer Fire Department units Command #1 and Rescue 1 responded to the incident. Assistance was also provided by Cow Creek Fire Department and the Kentucky State Police.

The Allen Volunteer Fire Department reminds motorists to remain alert, reduce speed, and use caution when approaching emergency scenes.

🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day from the Allen Volunteer Fire Department 🇺🇸

Today, we proudly celebrate Flag Day and honor the American flag a symbol of freedom, unity, sacrifice, and the values that make our nation strong.

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States. Since then, it has flown over our nation’s greatest triumphs and toughest challenges, representing the courage and resilience of the American people.

As firefighters, we serve under this flag with pride, remembering those who have defended our freedoms and those who continue to serve our communities every day. The red, white, and blue remind us of the sacrifices made by countless men and women to protect the liberties we enjoy.

Today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on what the American flag means to them and to proudly display our nation’s colors.

The roadway is reopened.

Prestonsburg Police and Prestonsburg Fire & EMS are on scene of a vehicle versus motorcycle collision on the Ky-80 overpass of US-23 at Water Gap.

Detours are set up but expect significant delays as investigators work to reconstruct the scene.

Allen Volunteer Fire Department Honors Firefighters and Families at Appreciation Dinner:

The members of Allen Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Fire Chief Joe Reynolds for hosting an outstanding Fire Department Appreciation Dinner this evening at BB’s Restaurant in Ivel, Kentucky.

As a volunteer department, we are truly blessed to have a chief who genuinely cares about and appreciates the dedication and hard work of his firefighters. Tonight’s gathering brought together members of the department and their significant others for an evening of fellowship, gratitude, and great food.

Chief Reynolds delivered a heartfelt appreciation speech, thanking members for their commitment and service to our community. Before the meal, Tax Board Member Danny Branson led everyone in prayer, asking for blessings over our department, our families, and the community we proudly serve.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make this evening special. Events like these remind us that the Allen Volunteer Fire Department is more than a team we are a family.
