💙 Celebrating Grandparents & the Love That Helps Raise Generations

In honor of Grandparents Day, NAHA is celebrating the grandparents who play such an important role in the lives of children and families throughout our community. From sharing wisdom and traditions to providing stability, encouragement and sometimes stepping into the role of primary caregiver, grandparents help build stronger families and stronger communities.

For grandparents raising grandchildren, and other relatives raising children, you don’t have to navigate that journey alone. R.O.C.K. (Raising Our Children’s Kids) is offering a FREE six-week support group designed specifically for grandparents raising grandkids and kin raising kin.

Participants can connect with others who understand their experiences, gain helpful information and resources, and hear from guest speakers, including a lawyer and child therapist, all in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

📍 Clark County – Clark County YMCA

🇺🇸 We Remember.

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage of the first responders, service members and everyday Americans who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives behind the numbers, the families forever changed and the spirit of unity and compassion that emerged in the days that followed.

May we continue to honor their memory through service, kindness and care for one another.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🏠 The Power of Partnership

This week, members of the New Albany Housing Authority team had the opportunity to attend the Indiana Housing Conference, connecting with housing professionals and community leaders from across the state to share ideas, learn from one another and explore new ways to better serve our residents.

NAHA Director of Community Engagement Courtney Lewis also joined a conference panel focused on the power of partnership and the important role collaboration plays in helping families move toward economic mobility and long-term self-sufficiency.
At NAHA, partnership isn't just part of our work, it's central to our mission.

We know that housing stability provides a foundation, but creating lasting opportunity takes more. That's why we work alongside employers, educational institutions, service providers and community organizations to connect residents with the resources they need to build the future they envision.

Through partnerships with organizations like Ivy Tech Community College, we're able to connect residents with education, training and career pathways. Our relationships with local employers help turn those skills into meaningful employment opportunities. And through partnerships with organizations providing financial education, transportation, childcare, legal assistance, healthcare and other supportive services, we can help address the barriers that too often stand between families and their goals.

Programs like Family Self-Sufficiency and STEP Up Jobs Plus demonstrate what is possible when housing, education, workforce development and community resources work together.

We are incredibly grateful to the many partners who invest their time, expertise and resources in our residents. Your partnership contributes not only to the success of our agency, but to the individual successes of the families we have the privilege to serve.

Because when our community works together, we don't just provide resources, we create opportunities. 💙
