Please Join Us for a Public Open House for Re-Envisioning Transit in Western Nevada County! Wednesday, February 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Madelyn Helling Library, Gene Albaugh Community Room.

Limited parking will be available at the library. Additional parking will be available nearby at the Rood Center. You can also take transit! The Route 1 Nevada County Connects bus will drop you off right in front of the library.

NCTC in coordination with Nevada County Transit Services is conducting a comprehensive analysis of the transit system in western Nevada County. This study effort will examine existing services such as bus service/routes, bus types, fares and fare payment options, bus stops/park and ride lots, real time tracking, and research new and innovative ways to provide transit services to residents of Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley, Rough and Ready, Lake Wildwood, Alta Sierra, North San Juan, and Lake of the Pines. Join NCTC and Caltrans at the SR 49 Multimodal Corridor Improvement Project Open House on Thursday October 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Eric Rood Administrative Center located at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, CA 95959.

NCTC received a $13.9 million Active Transportation Program grant from the California Transportation Commission to enhance safety along the SR 49 corridor by implementing new multi-use paths, sidewalk, enhanced crossings, and four intersection improvements, allowing residents and visitors to travel along and across the SR 49 corridor safely and comfortably while accessing nearby destinations.
