300 East Street railroad crossing is back open. 1st and 2nd Street crossings are now closed. They will do their best to get 2nd Street open tomorrow, weather permitting. The road crew did their best to set up detour signs. Follow the signs. Please be patient. Thank you.

The burn pile is back open. Please remember it is for Neponset residents only.

THE BURN PILE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Garbage:
PLEASE put all garbage in trash bags. This is for the sanitation and safety of our staff. It also makes it easier to get the trash out of the can. You are allowed three 32-gallon-size cans, which can hold two 50 lb bags (150 lbs total). Lids on the cans are preferable. If you don't have a lid, drill holes in the bottom to allow rainwater to drain. Our garbage truck does not lift the cans; humans do. Rainwater makes the cans very heavy. Do not put out oversized items until clean-up day, which will be in a couple of months. You can take your items to the Kewanee dump. If you have items on the ground next to the can, they will not get picked up. If you have a dumpster, make sure the large items can fit in the dumpster. Do not place them next to it.

Thank you for understanding.
