This afternoon we will be at Kimberly Meadows Apartments on Kimberly Road for training and pre-planning. There will be several Firetrucks and personnel in and around the facility. This is a planned activity and will last roughly 2 hours. We plan to start around 1:00.

We are excited to announce that we will be supporting the CHIX again this year by selling T-Shirts. Our design this year is the best one we have had in a long time, it’s been several years since we’ve done this so here we go.
Starting right now thru September 27th we will be taking orders and according to our shirt lady we should have them at the FD in 7-10 days.

There’s only one way to order, go to the link that we shared below and order. The only bad thing about this is if you want more than one shirt of different sizes you will have to use the all that many times. If you want to order more than one of the same size you’re fine. The link limited us or we would have changed it.
Example - you can order 10 - XLs in one purchase but you can’t order 1 - XL and 1 - Small on one order. We apologize. Bear with us we’re trying to work thru this.

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for Athens County in effect until 9:00PM, Friday, September 4, 2026.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for Severe Thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. People in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe Thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce Tornadoes.

Live burn structure fire training Day 2. Heavy fire rotations with temperatures recorded up to 1300. Crews rotated in and out while given time on the nozzle as well as support.
We want to that the Chauncey FD for the invite and everyone there that made it a great two days for us of learning and real life situation.
Thanks to our instructors from the Athens FD yeasterday and Odie today.

✅Live Training Burn complete!🔥

A huge thanks to the Chauncey-Dover FD. We were able to get some of our newer firefighters a chance to “see” some fire and learn how it builds and how thermal layering can change. Afterwards, all were able to see fire progression and how it advances through the stages. It was great to train together since we fight together.
