We have had reports of tampering being done to some election signs around town. If you have seen anything that could help us determine who is responsible, please call us at 402-887-4335.

A reminder that, regardless of your candidate of choice, political affiliations, or other personal preferences, stealing or destroying political signs is still a crime for which you will be charged. Use your vote to make your choice instead of tampering with signs.

We are saddened to hear of Dale's passing. Dale was a good friend of Neligh Police Department who we could always look to for support and guidance. He will be missed.

Dale Wilkinson age 88 of Neligh, Nebraska passed away at Antelope Memorial Hospital on April 6, 2026. A Private Family Services will be at a later date. Beyer Snider Memorial

We still have no rain and lots of wind, therefore the burn ban has been extended through April 10th.

REMINDER: The tornado sirens will go off this morning at approximately 10:00. This is only a test.

SIREN TESTING: Many local communities, including Neligh and Orchard, are planning to test sirens tomorrow at 10 a.m. Be advised, this is only a test.

****Traffic is open again****

TRAFFIC NOTICE: At approximately 8:20, there will be 15-20 trucks coming down Highway 14 with various loads for assistance with the wildfire relief efforts out west. We have agreed to do traffic control at the 275/14 intersection to help them get through together and safely.

If you are traveling in that area, please use caution and patience while they are going through. Thank you.

Congratulations to this years Neligh-Oakdale 5th graders on their graduation from D.A.R.E. Monday night! A special congratulations to our essay winners: Kyah, Zandra, Haylee, and Ava!

We are grateful to be able to continue doing programming such as D.A.R.E. with the students. Thank you especially Mrs. Kerkman for continuing to bring us in each year!

With the weather looking like it’s going to start consistently warming up soon, it seems a good time to remind you to get your ATV/UTVs registered!

Any ATV/UTV driven in the city must be registered. New this year, you’ll be given a plate to attach to the rear of your ATV/UTV. There has been no changes to the registration cost, it is still $30 for the 2026 year.

Some important reminders, per city ordinance:
- Vehicle must be insured
- Must be equipped with a safety flag
- Must have working headlights and taillights that are on at all times
- Can only be driven during daytime hours
- Can only be driven by a licensed driver
- Can NOT be driven on highways except for cross them
