The Heikki Lunta Winter Festival will be taking on a new face for the 2027 event. After conversations with the Negaunee DDA, the festival will now be looking for those that want to serve on the Heikki Lunta Winter Festival Committee. The committee will focus on planning the event and helping to ensure its future success.

“We will be looking for a number of individuals with time and talent to help plan this event. We are not looking for anyone to run the event”, City Manager Nate Heffron said.

Heffron says anyone can help! You don’t have to be from Negaunee, Heikki Lunta is a Marquette County winter festival. According to Heffron, the committee is looking for those that like to plan, fundraise, be ambassadors, and be good community asset connectors.

Those interested in serving on this committee may obtain an application here: https://www.cityofnegaunee.com/downtown-development-authority/links/volunteer-application

Applications will be accepted until July 30th.
