Join us for the Town of Neeses Memorial Day Observance.

The featured speakers for will be Col. Reedy Hopkins (US Air Force-Ret), Col. Jackie Ryan Fogle (US Army-Ret), Ms. Angela Snyder (US Navy-Ret), and Col. William C. Kurz (US Navy-Ret).

Special Patriotic songs will be presented by Miss Mo Griffith, Mrs. Nellie Griffith, and Mrs. Marilyn Singletary.

Commander Bryan Williams will recognize the departed hometown heroes. Councilmember John Anthony will lead the audience in reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance.

Mrs. Ashley Gleaton and Mr. Doug Gordon will serve as Memorial Wreath Bearers, and Chaplin Rod Mortenson will present the Invocation and the Benediction. Chris Sandifer will play TAPS. Mrs. Patsy Fogle will serve as pianist.

As a very special addition to the program, the South Carolina State Guard will be featured for the Presentation of Colors! This is a very reverent and important aspect of Memorial Day programs world-wide.

This program will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will take place on stage in the auditorium that is located inside the Neeses Senior's Recreation & Leisure Center (220 Park Street). Seating is provided and admission is free.

Join us, we pay tribute to those who have served the United States of America in all branches of military service.

Come enjoy a warm breakfast, good company, and take a moment to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. This is a casual, community event open to the public—everyone is invited to stop by, share a meal, and show support for our local heroes.

The Town of Neeses’ Third Annual Memorial Day Observance will be held on May 26 at 11:00 a.m. This will be a time to remember and honor our dearly departed servicemen and women.

This year we will pay tribute to four departed servicemen: Jefferson D. (Jeffrey) Baltzegar, Jr., John Franklin Carrigg, Jr., Walter Grover Dukes and Larry Delane Widener.

We encourage family and friends of these departed loved ones, and the general public to attend this ceremony. The program will include guest speakers, a Color Guard, participation by members of American Legion Post 78 (North, SC), the presentation of the Memorial Wreath, special patriotic songs, playing of TAPS, and a free lunch for all attendees.

The program will be held in the auditorium at the Neeses Senior’s Recreation & Leisure Center (220 Park St.), and lunch will be served on the verandah.

If you are unable to attend on Memorial Day, you may view the Town’s Memorial Marker at the Senior Center at any time and read the names listed there for a time of Remembrance.

The Town of Neeses will hold a baseball registration day on Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Neeses Town Hall.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the Town of Neeses Recreation Department will hold Baseball Registration for children ages 3-12 years of age. Registration for this DYB program will be held at the Neeses Town Hall from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The registration fee is $40 per player, and you do NOT have to live in Neeses to participate. Birth certificates are required for ages 5-12.

The Town's exercise program continues to offer a healthier lifestyle for adults on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings at the Neeses Senior's Recreation & Leisure Center. There are currently a few openings for the 10:00 a.m. class. The fee to take part in the exercise program is $10 per month per person. Ask your doctor if this program will be beneficial to your health. Applications are available at the Neeses Town Hall.

For those who enjoy walking for exercise, the walking trail around the Park Street Baseball Field may be just right for you, and there is no charge to participate.

At the present time, the Neeses Town Hall is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The telephone number for the Town Hall is 803-247-5811. JUST A REMINDER: Please visit the Neeses Town Hall BEFORE you plan to set up a mobile home, perform construction or establish a business inside the town limits to be sure you are in compliance with the town's ZONING regulations.

The Grinch has been here trying to put a damper on the Christmas season.

The Town of Neeses is missing one of the Christmas decorations that was mounted on a pole on Rice Street. We are asking our citizens, neighbors, and friends to help us locate the decoration that is pictured here.
