🔥 IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR NEENAH & MENASHA RESIDENTS

Burning brush, leaves, trees, or yard waste is NOT allowed within the cities of Neenah and Menasha. This includes open burning of yard debris.

Instead of burning, please use these safe and legal disposal options:

🌿 Neenah Residents:
• Use the City Yard Waste/Brush curbside collection (seasonal)
• Or bring materials to the City Drop-Off Site for yard waste and brush

🌿 Menasha Residents:
• Drop off yard waste and brush at the city’s designated site (Bucklin’s Tree Service)
• Seasonal curbside yard waste collection is also available

Let’s keep our community safe, prevent fires, and follow local ordinances. Dispose of yard waste properly—don’t burn it.

🚧 It’s Construction Season — Stay Alert for Gas Leaks 🚧

With construction activity ramping up, the risk of accidental gas line damage increases. That means it’s especially important for residents to know the signs of a gas leak and how to respond quickly and safely.

Know the Warning Signs:

A strong sulfur or “rotten egg” smell
Hissing or blowing sounds near the ground or a gas line
Dead or dying vegetation in an otherwise healthy area
Bubbling in standing water

What To Do If You Suspect a Gas Leak Near Your Home:

Leave the area immediately — get yourself and others to a safe distance
Avoid flames or sparks — don’t light matches, use lighters, or operate electronics
Do NOT use phones or switches inside the home — wait until you are safely away
Call 911 from a safe location
Do not try to locate or stop the leak yourself

During construction nearby:

Stay aware of active work zones
Keep a safe distance from crews and equipment
Report any unusual smells or sounds right away
Your awareness can make a difference. Stay safe and share this information with your neighbors!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Remember, the only alarms we want to hear today are from your oven timers!

Stay safe and make sure your tacos are sizzling and not your kitchen.

Today we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of firefighters around the world.

International Firefighters’ Day is a time to recognize the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, our homes, and our loved ones. Their strength, resilience, and selflessness do not go unnoticed.

We also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their legacy lives on in the hearts of those they served and the lives they saved.

Thank you for your service!
