May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠🌱

Check out our resources below for children, teens, and families to connect with mental health services and other needs through our office and with community partners.

In our minds, while awareness isn't confined to a single month, it always serves as a very important reminder. Never hesitate to reach out for support when needed. Contact us to learn more at [email protected] or call 781-455-7500 and follow the directory for Youth Services.

Join Town staff, elected officials, and community members to celebrate a major milestone at the Needham Free Public Library! 🎉📚

All are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated and expanded Teen Room on Thursday, April 16 at 3 PM on the Library’s second floor.

This exciting project transformed an 800 sq. ft. space into a vibrant 4,000 sq. ft. area designed for studying, collaboration, and creativity. The new Teen Room features expanded seating, modern amenities, and a flexible, welcoming environment built to support the evolving needs of Needham’s teens.

Approved at the May 2025 Annual Town Meeting, the $2.38 million investment reflects the Library’s commitment to creating dynamic, future-focused spaces for the community.

Jessica Lahey, educator and best-selling author of The Gift of Failure and The Addiction Inoculation is coming to Needham to talk with parents in person about "Raising Healthy Kids in a Culture of Dependence" on the evening of Wednesday, March 18!

Especially as our kids navigate the social landscape in Needham and beyond, this is for parents seeking more understanding of the short and long-term effects of substances on the adolescent brain and how to have scripted, productive, and trusting conversations with their children as they begin to open up discussions around substance use.
