The Breathing Butterflies community art project with Tova Speter is on display now in our Center Cafe. Come in to enjoy it and be inspired to pause, breathe and take care of yourself!
This collaborative art installation is composed of over 550 paper butterflies created by Needham community members of all ages. Designed and facilitated by local artist and art therapist Tova Speter from Gorse Mill Studios, the project engaged hundreds of people through in-person therapeutic art workshops and crowd-sourced examples of what brings people calm and connection. Participants included the general public at local events, youth and adults from the Center at the Heights, Needham Youth and Family Services and the YMCA.
The display is a way to remind us to pause, breathe, and take care of ourselves. It will travel to different locations in Needham throughout 2026 to inspire wellness as it shares color and connection.
