Good Evening,
Just a friendly reminder, tomorrow, July 28, 2025, the Hwy 21 construction is scheduled to move into the second phase. It is unknown when exactly the construction crews will have the next phase closed, but please plan ahead for any travels along the next phase of Hwy 21.
Included with this post are 4 photos, marked as follows.
Photo #1- COMPLETE road closure between the Hwy 80/ Main St. intersection to Hwy G. No traffic will be allowed through this area with exception to construction traffic and pre-approved traffic to/from residents within this area. Please avoid this area to allow construction crews to work efficiently, so this roadway can be reopened as soon as it possibly can.
Detours??
Photo 2- shows a marked detour to the south. This is south on Hwy G from Hwy 21 to Hwy 80.
Photos 3- shows a marked detour to the north. This is north on Hwy G to Hwy F, and west on Hwy F to Hwy 80.
To our locals, who know “short cut” roads along the detour routes, please be mindful of those residing along the route. Also, please remember, some of the “short cut” routes from this marked route are narrow, rough roads, and may create more inconvenience to those who choose to travel along the short cuts.
Old Mill Park??
Photo 4- Hwy 21 access to the parking lot will be completely closed. The park will continue to be open, but parking will be available at the Assembly of God Church, just to north of the park. Once parked, the walking path along the lake will need to be used to gain entry to the park.
Again, the WALKING path is for WALKING ONLY! This will be closed to vehicular traffic. DO NOT DRIVE on the walking path along the lake.
As always, please be courteous to those living or traveling along these routes. As the first stage left many with frustrations, we anticipate similar frustrations with phase 2. We appreciate your patients this far, and we ask that you continue to be patient with us, as we work with DOT officials through these “growing pains”.
What can you do???
1. Please share this post, so we can reach past our local following to those traveling through or visiting our area.
2. Hope/wish/pray for the cooperation of the weather and any other environmental factors, so the crews can work efficiently.
3. Please give the crews the space to work. They are here to just do their job. They cannot control the weather, the detour routes, or any lane closures. That part of the project was pre planned before this project began.
Thank you, stay well, and stay cool!
