Good morning and welcome to June!
Lifeguards are flying yellow flags today. Our rip currents are still pulling heavily throughout the beach, so please stay up on shallow sandbars where the surf is breaking. It may sound counterintuitive, but deep, dark, and calm looking water close to shore is not the safest place to swim! The water clarity is not great today, as lots of June grass and other varieties of seaweed are drifting in to shore. Today also is the start of our first session of Junior Lifeguards!
Have an amazing day and please swim near a lifeguard!!

Navarre Beach Safety had the privilege of attending the Florida Beach Patrol Chiefs Association Banquet. Division Chief Austin Turnbull, Lieutenant Alex Bailey, and Lieutenant Tessa Bailey attended as representatives of Navarre Beach Safety to pass on the Florida Beach Patrol of the Year Award to Manatee County after proudly holding the title for the past year.

The original trophy had fallen into disrepair over time, and ran out of room. Chief Turnbull had the honor of rebuilding it from rough-cut walnut, helping preserve a tradition that recognizes excellence in Florida beach safety.

Events like this serve as a reminder of the incredible professionals and agencies across our state who dedicate themselves to protecting the public. We are fortunate to stand alongside some of Florida’s finest beach patrols, learning from one another, sharing ideas, and continually raising the standard of lifesaving services.

Congratulations to Manatee County on this well-deserved recognition. We are proud to pass the trophy on to such a deserving agency.

That said… were coming back for our trophy ASAP. 🏆

Good morning and happy Memorial Day from your Navarre Beach Lifeguards! We are flying Red Flag today due to our rip currents and our building surf. We are expecting bigger surf the next couple of days. The rip currents have been pulling very hard over the past few days so we ask that everyone stays knee deep when entering the water. Storms are expected through the day with lightning so be prepared to seek shelter if necessary. We hope everyone has a wonderful day and if you have any questions feel free to ask a lifeguard!
