Officer Robinson and Officer Fulton had a great time talking with students about the ins and outs of policing, answering questions, and giving them a closer look at what it means to serve the community. Thanks to Maple Hill School for having us! 💙

Last night, Officer Erin Schofield was honored by UConn Health Waterbury Hospital alongside Naugatuck EMS for helping save the life of George M. after he suffered cardiac arrest last year.

During the ceremony, George surprised our Naugatuck first responders by personally presenting them with their awards — a full-circle moment for everyone involved and a powerful reminder of the difference first responders can make in someone’s life.

We’re proud to see this team recognized for the difference they made that day.

The Naugatuck Police Department has seen a significant increase in stolen motor vehicles recently, and many of these thefts involved vehicles left unlocked or with keys/key fobs left inside.

Please help protect your vehicle and property by following these simple safety tips:

🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even if parked in your driveway
🔑 Never leave keys or key fobs inside your vehicle
💼 Remove valuables from plain view
💡 Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
📹 Consider using home security cameras or vehicle tracking devices

Most vehicle thefts are crimes of opportunity. Taking a few extra seconds to secure your vehicle can prevent you from becoming the next victim.

If you notice suspicious activity in your neighborhood, contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5222.

Behind every emergency call is a calm voice guiding people through some of the worst moments of their lives. We’re proud to recognize Dispatcher Pernell of the Naugatuck Police Department for sharing insight into the emotional toll emergency communications professionals face every day.

Thank you to all dispatchers who answer the call, day and night, to help keep our community safe.
