Please be advised that PennDOT will begin a federally funded infrastructure improvement project at the intersections of Springhill Road and Freeport Road starting on April 27.

This project will include the installation of new poles, upgraded traffic signals, enhanced pedestrian crosswalks, and updated signage. These improvements are intended to increase safety and improve traffic flow for both motorists and pedestrians.

This work will occur in addition to PennDOT’s previously announced paving project, which is expected to continue throughout most of the summer. Residents and commuters should anticipate periodic traffic delays, lane restrictions, and changing traffic patterns in the area during construction.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these important upgrades are completed. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.

If you have any questions, please contact the Harrison Township Office.

Due to extremely cold temperatures, unplowed streets impacting staff travel, and unsafe bus stop conditions, Highlands School District will continue with remote learning for the rest of the week.

👉 Students should follow the same remote learning procedures already in place.

🚫 No transportation will be provided for students who attend out‑of‑district schools, including Forbes Road CTC.

🏫 All High School practices—athletics, musical, and band—must end by 2:00 PM this week so our buildings and grounds teams can safely manage facilities.
