Natick Charter Commission Campaign

Natick Charter Commission Campaign Please sign our petition to place the creation of a Charter Commission on the Spring 2024 ballot. We deserve a fresh look at our Town Charter.

The Natick Charter Commission Signature Committee is a registered political committee started by a group of residents to advocate for creation of the Charter Commission at the March 26, 2024 Natick Town Election. We are collecting signatures on official petition forms, educating voters, and conducting other activities to encourage a Yes vote on the ballot question. The Natick Charter Commission Si

gnature Committee is not recommending or endorsing individual candidates for the Charter Commission, nor taking positions on Town matters that are not directly related to the formation of a Charter Commission. The Natick Charter Commission Signature Committee is not taking a position on the possible recommendations of a future Charter Commission. It’s been 43 years since Natick adopted its current form of government. The time is now for a newly elected, transparent body to consider and make recommendations to the voters. That’s a Charter Commission. Natick voters deserve a say in what will work best for us.

✍🏾✍🏼✍️✍🏻 The Charter Petition: Getting to 3648 Signatures

The Natick Charter Commission Signature Committee is hosting an online event on 11/14 at 7PM about the Charter Commission effort, and how you can participate to give Natick voters more of a say in our local governance.

All are welcome! This meeting will be recorded for later viewing online and on Natick Pegasus.

To place a Charter Commission question on the ballot we need physical signatures from 15% of registered Natick voters, or 3648. That’s a lot of names! On November 14, come hear from Natick voters and local leaders about why we are proposing a Charter Commission, and how you can participate. Register at this link. Please share, and we hope to see you there!

A Charter Commission is an elected 9-member committee tasked with developing a new Charter. When we reach our goal of petition signatures, that will unlock a generational opportunity to serve our community.

Is it the right volunteer job for you? For starters, take a look at our campaign guide for candidates:

👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼 Please sign the Charter Commission petition for a fresh, independent look at Natick's governance!

On Saturday, October 28 you can sign at the Farmer’s Market and Spooktacular at the Town Common. Look for volunteers with clipboards, or stop in at 31 South Main Street next to Sweetwater.

Signing does not commit you to a position on a new Charter - it just means that the voters deserve a say. A Charter Commission is supported by 5 out of 5 Select Board members, 6 of 7 School Committee members, and local leaders from the Natick Democratic and Republican Town Committees, Town Meeting and other local civic institutions.

Learn more at NatickCharter.org, and thanks for signing on!
