An excellent example of the importance of having this conversation with adults at any age! It’s never too soon to have your ducks in a row for an emergency!

In 2018, New Hampshire mother Shawnee Baker received a call informing her that her daughter Baylie had been involved in a serious accident. Without a legal medical proxy, Baker and her husband, Scott, were told that Baylie's guardianship was in the hands of the hospital's medical ethics committee.
