Today, the Natchitoches Parish District Attorney’s Office honors the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to the United States of America.
The red poppy featured in this image has long stood as a symbol of remembrance and sacrifice. Inspired by the World War I poem “In Flanders Fields,” the poppy has, for generations, honored the memory of American heroes who never came home — from long-ago wars to the battles of today.
This Memorial Day, we pause to remember our local heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms — and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.
May we remember, honor, and give thanks for their sacrifice.
