Go to trade school, find a job and pay off student debt??

Oooooooooor get a trade for FREE, rack up your hours in that trade, gain multiple certificates in that trade, go to formal advanced schools in that trade, learn how to lead people and teach people in that trade. Then get out and use your FREE tuition to go to a trade school.

WHAT SOUNDS LIKE THE BETTER OPTION??

-Technical Skill
-Certificates
-Man Hours
-Free Formal Schooling
-Free College/Trade School

What is the Marine Corps Reserves? | ⁣

The Marine Corps reserves is a program that allows you to be a Marine while only having a part time obligation. Unlike active duty where they work full-time, you only work part time giving you a ton of flexibility that your active duty counterparts do not have.⁣

This allows you to be a full time student or maintain a separate career while still being a Marine. ⁣

However with everything there are some key differences | ⁣

- As a reservist you work part time so you get part time pay and benefits.⁣

- You work one weekend per month and 2 weeks in the summer with the ability to work more if desired. ⁣

- You’re guaranteed a specific job/MOS unlike active duty. ⁣

- You will have the ability to stay close to home and get stationed at the closest reserve unit to you AND if you choose to move across the country during your enlistment—your job goes with you 🤙🏼⁣

- And you’re going to receive all of the same training Marines on active duty receive such as boot camp, MCT/ITB, Mos school and intermediate/advanced training. ⁣

Overall this is a fantastic program that gives people the ability to serve while also maintaining a professional career outside of the Marine Corps ultimately receiving the best of both worlds.⁣

If you watched the Russian advance across Ukraine, it helps to understand what motor transport, maintenance, and sustainment looks like. No army can move without gear and supplies. Motor Transport literally brings maneuver and sustainment elements where they need to be.

What questions do you have about this occupational field? Which piece of gear do you want to operate?

There is a clear difference between a job and a career. Benefits are just as important as your rate of pay. If your current employer can offer some of these benefits you could be in a good place if not we should talk.

Gunny, how do I come on recruiters assistance ? |

Recruiters assistance is the ability for you to come back to your hometown recruiting office And assist your recruiter with the recruiting efforts for the Marine Corps. It allows you to take anywhere from seven up to 30 days of “free leave” aka not charged to your LES to help your recruiter.

During recruiters assistance you will help your recruiter with their day today activities such as class parked at a high school, walking around and meeting new people and whatever else they may have in store for that day. Every recruiter and recruiting station is different so keep that in mind.

Throughout this time you have multiple opportunities to receive a meritorious promotion to private first class or Lance Corporal for giving your recruiter referrals that end up enlisting into the Marine Corps as a Poolee.

If you are an NCO, you have the ability to earn up to 100 points toward your composite score which will help with a promotion.

You get weekends off and holidays to which is a nice bonus.

To get started, contact your recruiter or prior recruiting station And let them know you were interested in taking RA. From there they should reach out to your current command and let them know. If your parents command approves, you will get orders via MOL with start and end dates.

Just remember that you must pay for your own plane ticket back home and provide your own transportation to and from the recruiting station every day. The government does not fund your travels so keep that in mind when planning your RA.
